Pomerski bay is the most inward part of Medulin Bay located on the shores of the significant landscape of Gornji (Upper) Kamenjak. Pomerski zaljev is an extremely significant area from a biological point of view. In addition to being a suitable place for the spawning of many fish species and the growth of juveniles, this habitat type is extremely rare even at the European level. The whole area is included in the Natura 2000 network. Since it is extremely shallow with great variations in seawater temperature, salinity and volume, and physically separated from the rest of the sea, it is classified as a coastal lagoon.
